My fourth Dead show, and it was smokin' hot, just like the next night at MSG. China -Rider is really really good, with a one-of-a-kind joyous meandering
...
transition. Rolls nicely into Samson. UJB is always a sweet selection. Cool space with a Terrapin tease, then Weir rocks Other One. Nice Stella Blue, you can almost hear a pin drop in the audience. If I could give it six stars, I would. Get this one!

What is it about Minglewood? Probably not at the top of anyone's favorite list, and yet there it is - from the beginning to the end. Reinvented at least
...
twice. A song that the band really opens up on - like in this example.

This is what the band sounds like when they are out to truly impress and then the stars align perfectly right. This source from Steve Rolfe and Charlie
...
Miller is WAY better than the MOTB version. The highlights are just too many, but to get idea how screamin' this is from the start check out the instrumental section of Stranger. It only gets better and better: the musical equivalent of pulling down the one-armed bandit and it comes up cherries and bars and gold coins are spilling all over the floor in heaps. Best of 1981 and arguably the best MSG show they ever played. This means fasten your seat belt Dorothy, 'cause Kansas is going bye-bye.
